Pre-appointment wedding dress questions? Please have a look at our FAQ's.
-
When should I start looking for my Wedding Dress? It is never too soon to start looking for your wedding dress! Wedding dresses can take up to 6 months to arrive as they are made to order specially for you. We also need 2 months for fittings and alterations to ensure your dress is perfect for your day. If you do have a shorter turn-around, please get in touch as we are always happy to help where we can!
-
Do I need an appointment?Yes! We are appointment only. Our weekend appointments tend to book up a month in advance but if you are available during the week, we generally have more flexibility.
-
Do you charge for your consultations? There is a small fee of £30 for our evening and weekend consultations and £20 for our week day consultations. Return appointments will be £15 for evening and weekends and free of charge during the week. The appointment you commit to your dream dress at is refundable against the purchase of the dress. For example, if you find your dress on your first evening/ weekend appointment with us there will be a £30 credit against the balance of your dress. £20 if you find the dress at the first appointment on a week day. £15 if you commit to your dress at a evening/ weekend return appointment. There will be no credit added if you commit to your dress at a weekday retry as this appointment isn't charged for.
-
What if my Wedding day isn’t that far away?If your wedding is fast approaching, we can also help you! Many of our designers offer rush delivery so that your order is put on priority and can arrive sooner than the normal delivery time.
-
What should I wear/bring to my appointment?Nude coloured underwear is always best, but there are no rules, you should wear what you feel comfortable in, even if that means leaving your socks on!
-
Who should I bring to help me?Bring the people important to you to help you make your decision! We have space for 4 guests but can always squeeze people in. We also have a large screen in the consultation area so your friends and family can join in using Zoom. Please let us know in advance if you'd like to arrange a video call.
-
Are children allowed?Whilst we love babies and children, we do request you come without the little ones as our boutique is not toddler-proofed! Please call us if you would prefer to bring babies along as we can make special arrangements.
-
How long will my appointment last? When you are choosing your dress we allow up to an hour and a half, so you have plenty of time to relax and select your gown without feeling rushed and stressed. You will have full assistance from one of our bridal consultants and we also have our seamstresses on hand to advise on how the dress can be adapted and fitted to your own requirements. Fitting appointments, to have your own gown fitted by the seamstress, last for half an hour.
-
Can I take photos?Yes! Photos can be helpful when choosing your dress, but don't panic if your besties snaps don't live up to how you looked in the appointment. The way the dress makes you feel is the most important!
-
When should I arrange my fittings?Fittings days are Wednesday and Thursday, when we are open until 8pm. We start your fittings at 8 weeks before your wedding, with a second appointment at two weeks before the big day. When you collect your dress, it will have been beautifully pressed and had all its final checks. We unfortunately can't offer alterations on dresses purchased elsewhere.
-
What about weight change? If you are planning on losing weight, please discuss this when ordering your dress so we can ensure the correct size is ordered for you to minimise alteration costs. We require you to be at your final weight by the first fitting to ensure your dress is fitted correctly in time for your big day.
